who i work with

I’ve worked with people from all over the world, each unique in their experience and engagement with life. Despite their singular differences, each client begins coaching with the same underlying motive: There’s a gap between who they are and who they want to be, and they’re ready to bridge that divide. My clients include artists and creatives, overwhelmed parents and busy professionals, young adults navigating life’s complexities, visionary entrepreneurs, social change makers, and those longing to evolve in their roles and relationships. I find special resonance with those who identify outside of cultural norms or “color outside the lines.”

My Approach

I’ll enable you to think of your life as a creative act, awakening you to new possibilities and outcomes, even when faced with the same old pressures. Somatic coaching leverages neuroscience, action-oriented communication, and the body’s innate intelligence. The holistic methodology helps to diminish feelings of anxiety and stasis, while increasing satisfaction in relationships and at work. This is achieved by amplifying awareness,  identifying habitual tendencies, and understanding current modes of being which don’t always serve you. From there, we’ll craft fresh alternatives, and increase your capacity to truly embody this vision of your life.

I’m committed to inclusion and belonging, making you feel comfortable and safe throughout each step of the coaching process. I’ll respect who you are today, and will partner with you as you grow into the person you long to become.

In my 15-plus years as an award-winning actor and theatre arts educator, I pursued my passionate curiosity for the human experience. Originally from Cape Cod, I moved to the Bay Area in 2013. I earned my BFA from The Boston Conservatory, an MFA from DePaul University, and then worked professionally across stage and screen for many years. My son’s birth in 2012 helped clarify my purpose and reevaluate the impact I wanted to make in the world; an inquiry that ultimately set me on my coaching path. Seeking to further understand the relationship between body and mind, as well as empirically sound insights from neuroscience and mindfulness-based interventions, I chose to pursue a certification in somatic coaching from the Strozzi Institute.

Why I love this work

Engaging the body, as opposed to simply talking or thinking about an obstacle, can be the
fastest route to creating sustainable change, and it’s an honor to guide clients through this
holistic process. As you read this, you’re receiving a great deal of conscious and unconscious sensory input. Your brain attempts to make sense of it all in order to take meaningful action. Somatic coaching focuses on this innate process, slowing it down so you can become more intentional and less reactive. Your body is a living history of deeply embedded habits, well-trod narratives, traumas, and adapted tendencies–all of which shape who you become. Engaging the whole self helps you to identify these patterns, and most important, to feel them. I love reminding clients of their innate capacity to heal and grow not just from the “inside out,” but from the “outside in,” too.

A bit more about me

I don’t have it all figured out! I’ve had an incredibly diverse range of life experiences, identity iterations, and have made a plethora of painful mistakes. Yet, each of these has offered me the opportunity to refine and evolve who I am. I’m committed to compassionately (yet rigorously!) examining my own habits, triggers, and personal obstacles; I try to do better all the time. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. I connect with joy through art and music, vinyasa yoga, thrift shops, Japanese cuisine, ocean waves, and hysterical laughter with the ones I love.

What Clients Say

“I’m so glad my first coaching experience was with Lindsay. First, she is warm, affable, and
insightful. This made revealing the difficult parts of myself much easier than I expected. Second, the somatic method, which focuses on bringing awareness to the body as a way of gaining insight into the mind, was such a powerful way to see my problems and issues in a refreshing and meaningful way. Working with Lindsay has obligated me to grow and expand in ways that I never would have thought possible. She is wise, patient, and kind. She’s one of those people who quickly intuits the heart of a problem and knows just what to do or say to bring quick clarity to issues that I’ve been obsessing over for years. Any person interested in making real and rapid improvement in their lives would be well served by working with Lindsay. She is a gift to the coaching profession and my life will be forever changed having met her.” – J.H.

“OMG where to start??? I’ve been working with Lindsay for over a year now and in that year I have been able to work hard on my journey and get to know myself better along the way. Lindsay holds me accountable, is a guide, a mentor, and the best mirror. Her wisdom and thoughtful support throughout our time together have been invaluable to me. I have brought so many of our somatic practices with me into other aspects of my life and have felt so grounded and supported having them. I look forward to our sessions and chew over kernels from them in between. I recommend her SO HIGHLY. I find so many fellow 20-somethings talking about how they want a therapist/coach in their lives but have trouble figuring out how to start. I recommend all those people to check Lindsay
out. Thank you, Lindsay!!” – Z.G.

“My life has changed ever since I started working with Lindsay. I go into each session feeling like I’m entering a safe playground for me to explore, question, and hold space for my most vulnerable feelings and thoughts. I’ve been empowered by our time together to gather the strength to look inward with more honesty, discernment and compassion. After months of working with her, I’ve been noticing a steady growth trajectory and also my ability to be more self-assertive in my personal and professional relationships. I’ve also have received more tools as a person of color to navigate the racial traumas that I experience in my day to day life. Lindsay’s wise insights have helped me connect the dots between the different areas/moving pieces in my life that I hadn’t thought of before. In short, don’t hesitate to work with her – you won’t regret it!” S.H.

“Lindsay has been a catalyst to an introspective and transformative year for me. The somatic tools she brings to sessions allows for growth beyond the hour we spend together. Her presence and intention is felt during our time together. I feel heard, seen and held accountable by Lindsay. I’ve been able to work on and break through some really important things for me in our time together and am so lucky to have her in my life.” N.D.
