Jessica Vickers, MFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Welcome, I’m Jessica, and my goal is to provide a supportive environment as well as to equip you with the tools you need to empower yourself and maintain positive changes in your life. I enjoy the work I do and find the therapeutic relationship to be a powerful component of this long-lasting change.
style + philosophy
I don’t believe that that any one style of therapy fits every person. That said, I incorporate several evidence-based practices including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, family systems therapy, and person-centered therapy. I aim to meet you where you’re at and provide the combination of styles that best serves you.
The relationship between the client and therapist can be such a healing element, and I strive to be empathic, nonjudgmental, and accepting of what you are going through. I will focus on your strengths while also helping you gain insight to maladaptive behavior patterns that need to be broken. Communication, relationships, and boundaries are common areas that we can all benefit from continually improving.
I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy is from Pepperdine University Graduate School. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#89119) with years of experience working with teens, young adults, and families.
I have received training in an adoption promotion and support program, as well as a trauma-focused CBT program. I have years of experience providing therapy to adolescents and their families in a residential treatment center, focused on addiction and its underlying causes.

a little bit more…
I lived in Southern California my entire life until I moved to this fascinating city one year ago. This adjustment reinforced the importance of having support in place, and I never take relationships in my life for granted. I bring humor to situations when appropriate, and listen to myself and others with care. My favorite joys include hiking with my husband and dog, enjoying beautiful views of the bay, laughing with friends, and eating sushi!contact me
