who i work with
I strive to work with any person regardless of age, gender, or the conditions they are presented with. I do have one exception, and it is individuals who have a cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, I do not have the education, training, or expertise in cancer nutrition, but I am more than happy to refer to someone I trust.
I take a holistic and whole food systems approach to help an individual realize their health potential under the philosophy that food is medicine. I aim to thoroughly understand the biological complexities of my client in my best effort to make a unique and individualistic plan catered to their specific health and wellness needs. Rather than focus on how we look from the outside in, my goal with any client is to help them gain insight into how they feel from the inside out in order to truly recognize how food and lifestyle habits either help or hinder their health. I take an anti-diet approach, but understand how it can be used therapeutically for more severe food-related conditions. With any client, my primary goal is to educate them on the truth about nutrition and debunk any myths and diets that aren’t in line with true health. Alongside food, I also draw focus to lifestyle habits and how my client can optimize self-care as a means to elicit self-love so that they regain a healthy relationship to themselves and their external world. At the end of the day, my wish for any of my clients is to feel abundantly confident in their personal health choices.
My journey into nutrition started when I was a little girl. I always had an intuition that what we put into our body has a direct impact on how our body and mind will respond. After losing loved ones to chronic conditions and struggling with my own disordered eating, I knew that my career path had to be embedded in health and wellness. I studied at UCLA, then discovered Naturopathic Medicine after college, which launched me into understanding nutrition, supplements, and herbs in order to heal and treat the body to get to the root cause of disease, which is different from western medicine that focuses on treating signs and symptoms. I knew I had unlocked something powerful that we aren’t educated about in America, and it became my mission to dive deeper into the philosophy that food is medicine and we as humans have the capacity to fully heal if we give our body and mind what it needs to do so. I then moved to Portland, Oregon to attend NUNM (National University of Naturopathic Medicine) to receive my Masters of Science in Nutrition. Upon graduating in 2015, I took a job as a Nutritional Health Coach at a national grocery store chain, where I was involved in one-on-one health coaching sessions, taught cooking and nutrition education classes, and got involved with my local community to educate them about the store’s health and wellness resources. After a few years, I started my own nutrition consulting business to help individuals discover their unique biology and how to implement specific dietary and lifestyle protocols so that true healing could take place. Now, I’m excited to join forces with Wellspace so that I can pair my nutrition knowledge and expertise with other integrative practitioners in order to help an individual not only get the best care, but to feel supported throughout their entire health journey.
Why I love this work
As a strong empath and healer, I absolutely love what I do because it gives me a means to connect to others, meet them where they are at, and use food and lifestyle factors to support and help their individual lives feel better. Food is a unique and personable journey for all, so I come with a place of intuitive understanding while having the expertise to help an individual reclaim their health and wellness with realistic yet profound changes. I love helping others learn and become educated about nutrition and their unique biology so that they feel empowered and in complete control over their personal health and wellness. Even the smallest change or piece of information can make a dramatic impact on an individual’s health. It’s the little victories that deserve praise so that each day we become more into the person we are meant to be.
A bit more about me…
I fully practice what I preach, and every day, season, and year I learn more about the person I am becoming and what specific foods and lifestyle practices work best for me. Health and wellness is not an end all be all nor should it come quickly, but rather it is about understanding it from a holistic perspective and recognizing it is a lifestyle – the style of how we live our life. I strive to progressively become better in each area of my life and recognize that my weaknesses are a light to evolve and reach for higher ground, and not a means towards perfection. Living well and being well is what inspires me everyday. Alongside my career, I enjoy traveling, taking adventures, going to workout classes, having brunch with friends and family, and soaking up every moment I have with my 3 year old goldendoodle, Stevie. Life is good and lovely!
